In Hungary, the vehicles that exceed 3.5t have to pay the new HU-GO road toal
using one of the two options:
Using OBU (On-Board Unit)
Everything is simpler with OBU. OBU One communicates your real-time travel position at the system and pays automatically the toll. Even if your destination point is modified you don’t have to bother about that. You can go forward on your way without beeing worried about leaving your planified route. The OBU One device is certified by NUSZ – Hungarian road authority and can also be used to track your vehicle through GPS.
Fixed route ticket, bought in advance
The fixed route tickets can be bought only at the gas stations or at the improvised kiosks. Every time you want to travel on a certain payed route you have to give all your personal and vehicle data and also to create a trajectory from which you can not deviate. The fixed route tickets have to be payed with credit cards. The tickets are fixed and for any destination you have to buy different tickets. Each ticket has a validity of 2 calendar days.

“After a close analysis on the market, we selected SafeFleet as the best option for an international transport company like us. Currently, the OBU One devices are installed on our entire fleet. We manage our international transport activity with SafeFleet Portal application, which is an excellent fleet management tool. We get CANBus data, detailed activity reports and use OBU One for paying the HU-GO toll in Hungary. The entire project was a success”.
